Tatum Maya

A cross-cultural artist living in Sweden, originally from Sumbawa Besar, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province in Indonesia. Nurtured in a multicultural environment, she gained a broad perspective in art, and her creations serve as reflections of her rich cultural heritage. In 2010, she moved to Sweden, which has become her second home after Indonesia.

 

Tatum is deeply engaged in the art scene, actively participating in both Sweden and Indonesia. Following several successful art exhibitions in Sweden, she observed a heightened curiosity among the Nordic people regarding Indonesian culture. Motivated by this, she took the initiative to launch a cultural exchange project between Nusa Tenggara Barat and Sweden. 

Her artworks in Journey to Sense can be experienced through the aforementioned geometric patterns, human figurative forms and religious symbols. Within each painting, one witnesses the transformative journey of familiar and unfamiliar elements converging harmoniously, evocative of an inner journey that traverses the diverse realms of consciousness, seamlessly navigating from the material world to the divine.
